Over to you

For members and regional staff

Find out:

  • If you are a member, find out the name of the Regional Organiser(s) with responsibility for liaison with your branch. Everyone should find out the names of the Regional Secretary, the Regional Education Officer, Women’s Officer and the Lifelong Learning Fieldworker if there is one.
  • In the case of each person, find out one thing about what they do.

For everyone

  • In your region, (or for any region if you are a member of national staff) sketch out a rough diagram showing how the different members of staff are organised. Hint: in many regions there are regional or administrative teams with responsibility for a different geographical or service group area.

In relation to your region make a note of -
For everyone

  • How is health and safety dealt with?
  • Who can advise you on matters relating to equalities?
  • Are there staff who can help with a branch development matter?

For staff

  • Who has responsibility for staff training?
  • How can you access UNISON’s policies and procedures?
  • Who is your staff union rep?
  • Who does what – at national and regional level
