What is a branch?

A branch is the main unit of local organisation in UNISON. The branch is run by UNISON members on a voluntary basis, often with some facilities, such as time off or access to a computer or office, provided by their employer.

Contact your branch secretary and ask them to put you in touch with your workplace representative - often known as a steward - and arrange to meet them to find out more about your branch and how it operates

In regions, ask your line manager about visiting a branch office.
